Our symphony orchestra consists of about 45 Dutch and international amateur musicians from The Hague and surrounding
region who enjoy playing music from the classic, romantic and modern symphonic repertoire. The orchestra is made up of
musicians of all ages and experience.
At least twice each year we perform a full concert, frequently featuring a soloist. Further, we often give concerts
in Nursing Homes and even in the open air!
Many of our members are also members of smaller groups performing chamber and salon music.
We play familiar and less well known works - pieces chosen to fall within the technical competence of all of our members.
Would you like to join us?
New members are always welcome! Currently we are actively looking for violinists, viola and contra bass players. We also are looking for a Second French Horn. Register your interest now - on-line - or come along to one of our concerts and see how well you would fit in with our ensemble.
The Haags Symfonie Orkest Euterpe (also known as the HASO!)
rehearses each Monday evening under the baton of our
permanent, professional conductor.
We rehearse in the Vrije School, Waalsdorperweg 12, The Hague (easy to travel with own or public transport).
Rehearsals begin at 8pm and end at 10.15.
We also organize study weekends twice a year when in smaller groups and in full orchestra we can build up to our twice yearly concerts.
If you would like to come along to our Monday rehearsal or want to give the orchestra some financial support, please contact either our Chairman, Joop Wagenaar or Deputy Chairman Rian van der Gaag.
